THE CHALLENGE

80% of marketers say their lead generation efforts are only slightly or somewhat effective

Sales people don’t have a consistent way of finding actual solid leads. To be efficient, they have to rely on outdated data or social media channels in order to generate leads, which ironically, can be an inefficient, time consuming and frustrating  process.

THE SOLUTION

A platform where workers could anonymously gripe, vent (or rant) about work-related issues, and would be able to set alerts for troubleshooting.

For non-sales people, it's an outlet for a solution to hopefully be found, but also a way to see if other people in other companies may have found a solution to the said issue.

For sales people, it's a wonderful way to find leads

THE PROCESS

THE RESEARCH

After gathering insight on the audience, and having a better understanding of their goals and frustrations, a persona was created to emulate our user.

This persona helped drive my design decisions.

Dante Akebi

34, Married, 1 child

Sales manager  • Chicago, IL

Dante sells softwares and has to dedicate several days a week to finding decent leads.

He is analytical, extroverted and is a great motivator who checks on his team daily.

Dante's days are pretty full, which causes him to forget leads, tasks, and meeting if he doesn't write them down.

“ I have to dedicate several days in my week for skimming through existing clients competitors, or Facebook and LinkedIn posts to find leads. It’s so inneficient for me, time is money!”

Goals

  • Quickly identify and generate leads

  • Understand other professionals' processes

  • Keep track of meetings and calls

  • Automate communication with peers

  • Better manage time and team

Pain points

  • Hard time keeping track of call back meetings

  • Hard time finding viable leads

  • Too much time spent trying to find leads on social media

OPPORTUNITIES

Stemming from the research, areas of opportunities came to light.

  • Features that would support productivity

    • Organizing and viewing meetings

    • Organzing and viewing tasks

    • Communication

    • Access to email

  • Background logic following TikTok model for a personalized experience based on usage.

  • The ability to sync to calendar and mailbox(es).

  • A smart watch app with alerts, tasks and meetings visibility for added efficiency.

USER FLOWS

Keeping simplicity and minimalism in mind, several scenarios of user flows were developed to help direct the focus on designing specific pages.

This step was critical for thinking through the necessary steps and examining the user experience in details.

WIREFRAMES

Building from the user flows, the low-fidelity wireframes were created to ensure the flow made sense. It allowed to push further the design thinking and establish the look and feel of the interface.

DESIGN KIT

An initial design system was created to provide references for future design and collaboration for the design and development team. It is a living document that will be updated with every iteration of the product.

LOGO DESIGN

Yes, shrews have a bad reputation thanks to Shakespeare, however, they are not all that bad.

They are very hard-working, and yes, they can have a little bit of a temper. However, that sounds very familiar to most people in the workforce: we all roll up our sleeves to get the work done well.

Yet we often times get fed up by our day-to-day stress. That is how Shrood Up came to fruition. The word-play and emblematic aspect of the "mascot"  seemed fitting, considering the ins and outs of the product,
